Workshops bring together creativity, experimentation, and the simple pleasure of making something by hand. At the heart of each one is a chance for artists to come together, learn from one another, and share the experience of making.
In August 2025, I had the pleasure of welcoming artist and instructor Charles Miano of Miano Academy of Art in Sarasota, Florida, for an intimate drawing and painting workshop in Sweden. Charles guided us through classical approaches to drawing and painting with demonstrations, individual instruction, and plenty of time to work from life and put new techniques into practice.

A Drawing & Painting Workshop with Charles Miano | Sweden 2027
I’m delighted to invite you to a special few days of drawing, painting, and creative inspiration with artist and instructor Charles Miano of Miano Academy of Art in Sarasota, Florida.
Charles will be traveling to Sweden to lead this intimate private workshop, and I would love for you to join us.
Over several days, we’ll immerse ourselves in the creative process, explore classical approaches to drawing and painting, and enjoy the experience of making art together in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
Charles is a passionate teacher of classical realism and brings tremendous energy, knowledge, and encouragement to his teaching. Through demonstrations and individual guidance, he will introduce techniques for strengthening observation, drawing, painting, and artistic expression.
The workshop will take place in Sweden, in a small-group setting designed to feel welcoming, personal, and creatively energizing. The exact location will be announced as plans are finalized.
We’ll work with both drawing and painting, with an emphasis on classical techniques and working from life. Each day will include demonstrations from Charles, individual instruction, and plenty of time to practice, experiment, and learn alongside one another.
You don’t need to be an advanced artist to participate. Whether you’re relatively new to drawing and painting or already have experience, the workshop is about learning, exploring, and growing at your own level.
Most of all, I hope these days will be about more than technique — a chance to slow down, make art, exchange ideas, and enjoy the wonderful sense of community that happens when creative people come together.
